SDAF CARES

STELLA DAMASUS is known for her fight to constantly protect the rights of women, and children in Africa. To this effect, the STELLA DAMASUS ARTS FOUNDATION has teamed up with various NGO's to help and empower women and children who have been abused, raped, ostracized, stigmatized, deprived of their rights and education by family and society.

We create a safe environment for them, provide security and legal advice. Most of these women have no source of income and have no financial independence. SDAF will do what it can to help these women develop skill sets that will enable them to have financial liberty, and guide the children on the right path through education.

Psychologists and therapists will work with these women to help free their minds, from the mental slavery they have suffered in the hands of their oppressors. The women who need a safe place to stay will be referred to various NGO's who have set up shelters in

undisclosed locations to ensure their safety. We also work with lawyers to ensure that these abused women and children get justice for the crimes committed against them.

We are fully committed to bringing awareness to Domestic Violence against women and young girls within Africa and beyond.

SDAF AND PROJECT ALERT

SDAF in conjunctionwith Project Alert organized the walk for TITI AROWOLO who was murdered by her husband in 2011 in Lagos, Nigeria. The pressure mounted on the judicial system and our determination not to be silent led to the conviction of the husband who committed the crime. This is proof that when we stand our ground, even in a decaying system, justice will prevail.
